Over the years, Lunar Client has been a pinnacle in Minecraft’s competitive PvP scene. In fact, Lunar Client was founded with the goal of providing a competitive PvP experience back in 2019. This article looks at how Lunar Client has affected competitive Minecraft PvP both in the past and today.

In 2019, Lunar Client was founded by Physci, Jordan, and macguy to provide a competitive PvP experience on their server, Lunar Network. At the time, Lunar Client boasted a comprehensive client-side anticheat, preventing cheaters from ruining the experience. Eventually, the client-side anticheat was removed, forming Lunar Client as we know it today. To this day, Lunar Client still provides a variety of mods and features that facilitate competitive PvP in Minecraft, which we will get into below.
Performance Boost
Lunar Client provides an unmatched performance boost, designed to give you a competitive edge in the PvP scene. Lunar Client allows you to take your PvP skill to the next level because it allows you to PvP without being hindered by the limits of your computer. Given that many modern PvP servers today, such as MCCIsland or PvPLegacy, tend to be very resource-intensive, this is especially important. Even on legacy Minecraft PvP servers like Minemen Club, Lunar Client’s performance optimizations are sure to keep your gameplay buttery smooth, allowing you to take your skill to the max.
Mods
Lunar Client comes with a variety of built-in mods designed to make your competitive PvP experience easier. Let’s take a look at some of these mods and how they can be used.
Item Counter
The Item Counter mod counts how many of a set item you have in your inventory and displays this amount on your HUD. This is extremely helpful when you’re PvPing, as you often will not have time to open your inventory to count how much of an item you have left, allowing you to have a competitive edge over your opponent. For example, No Debuff and HCF players often use this mod to show them the number of health potions left in their inventory.

Totem Counter
Similar to the Item Counter mod, Totem Counter counts the number of totems you and your opponent have used in a fight. This allows you to make informed decisions during fights because you can see whether your opponent has used more totems than you. The totem count can be shown in tab, above a player’s head, and in your HUD, giving you a ton of customization options.

Armor Status
This mod shows the durability of your armor, shield, and held item on your HUD. The Armor Status mod is extremely helpful because it allows you to know when your equipment is going to break. As a result, you’ll be able to replace your gear before it breaks, giving you an advantage over your opponents, whether you’re fighting in a duel or on a competitive factions server.

Hurt Cam
On modern Minecraft versions, players experience a noticeable camera shake whenever they take damage. This is often distracting and can disrupt a player’s experience when PvPing. The Hurt Cam mod allows you to disable or customize the intensity of the hurt shake, allowing you to minimize distractions when fighting other Minecraft players.
Tier Tagger
The Tier Tagger mod allows you to pick and choose your battles with other players. This mod provides a note under players’ nametags that depicts their tier according to either https://mctiers.io or https://mctiers.com. You can also distinguish between tiers and ranks as well as game modes, in the nametag display. Tier Tagger lets you avoid opponents that may be difficult to beat so that you can win your fights.
Created by PvPers for PvPers
Lunar Client was originally created by PvPers for PvPers—something that continues to influence client-wide decisions today. As a result, Lunar Client is the #1 client for PvP and is trusted by many competitive PvPers across Minecraft. For instance, Lunar Client was entrusted to operate Twitch Rivals, a competitive PvP event at TwitchCon in 2022. As a result, Lunar Client is built with PvPers in mind, allowing for seamless competition.

Furthermore, the Lunar Client team has also put together a PvP guide so that you can learn how to improve and beat the competition. You can access this guide by clicking here.
