Modding is an essential component of Minecraft and Lunar Client, allowing players to infinitely customize and expand their experience in-game. Today, there are thousands of different mods available to players with thousands of different features. However, with so many mods available, it can often be tough to find the perfect mods for you. Whether you are seeking quality-of-life improvements, general enhancements, or game-changing features from your Fabric mods, this blog post covers the most popular Fabric mods on Lunar Client so that you can get a sense of what other players are using.

Adding Mods to Lunar Client

Adding your own Fabric mods to Lunar Client is extremely easy. Simply open the version selector (🧩 button) in the launcher and choose a version of your choice. Next, select the Fabric add-on and click the ⚙ button in the bottom right. You can now drag your mods into the window. After you’ve added your mods, press Launch Game and you should have all your mods in-game. Unfortunately, some Fabric mods may not work properly with Lunar Client. If this is the case, open a bug report on our support portal so that our team can work on fixing it. Further information regarding Fabric mod loading on Lunar Client can be found here.

Mod loading is only available on Lunar Client on versions 1.16.5+ via the Fabric add-on!

Now that you know how to add your own Fabric mods, let's take a look at the most popular mods on Lunar Client.

Nvidium

Nvidium is a popular Fabric mod that works with Sodium and relies purely on OpenGL extensions to boost Minecraft’s performance. Nvidum is maintained by cortex and can be downloaded via its Modrinth page. Combined with Lunar Client’s boosted frames, Nvidium is sure to boost your Minecraft FPS even further. However, this mod does require a Nvidia GPU that supports mesh shaders, so ensure that your GPU has this compatibility before using it.

More Culling

Like Nividium, More Culling is a Fabric mod that is also designed to boost your FPS. Unlike Nividium, this mod is available to anyone regardless of your GPU type. The More Culling mod was created by FX and can be downloaded here on Modrinth. More Culling increases Minecraft performance by not rendering entities and objects that the player cannot see. This mod depends on the Cloth Config API Mod, so make sure that you install it before using More Culling.

Reese’s Sodium Options

Many Sodium users might find Sodium’s UI confusing and unintuitive. Reese’s Sodium Options is a Fabric mod created by FlashyReese that aims to fix this problem by redesigning Sodium’s video settings menu. With this mod, you’ll be able to seamlessly navigate through Sodium. To download Reese’s Sodium Options, head over to its Modrinth page.

Xaero’s Minimap

Xaero’s Minimap is a Fabric mod created by Xaero that contains many of the classic minimap features, including waypoints, displaying entities, and much more. Xaero’s Minimap is unique from other minimap mods because it maintains the vanilla aesthetic of Minecraft, allowing it to blend seamlessly into the game. You can download this mod here.
