Welcome to the Lunar Client December Recap, our final update of 2024! We've released many exciting features and updates over the year and are here to end the year off with a bang! Join us as we dive into the latest updates to the Launcher, new in-game features, and the release of our festive Winter/Christmas collections.

Launcher Updates
Getting started with our Launcher updates, we’ve just made installing modpacks super easy. By copying the URL of the modpack from the Modrinth page, and pasting it while tabbed into our launcher, you’ll be able to play with all of your favorite mods much easier. No more, shall you have to download a million different installers, just to all play with the same mods.
Adding onto this, we’ve added support for custom JVM arguments when launching any version in Vanilla. Just head inside of any Vanilla Version in our Launcher, and hop into the settings. You’ll see a new text box for you to input any normally support JVM argument, allowing you to truly customize how your game launches, similar with the regular Minecraft Launcher.
Finally, we’ve added support for you to load entire modpacks into your already existing profiles. Previously, you had to manually pick and choose which mods you’d like to install if you’ve already created a profile. But, if there’s a modpack with everything you’re looking for, you can now do that by simply dragging and dropping the .mrpack file from Modrinth into the mods of your own profile.
In-Game Updates
Moving onto our in-game updates, we’ve added support for Minecraft 1.21.4 on the same day it was released, allowing you to utilize all of the new features Minecraft has to offer, while still having all of the optimizations and mods provided by Lunar Client.
Skyblock Updates
Hoppity Waypoints
Our Hypixel SkyBlock players will be happy to hear that we’ve finally added waypoints for the Hoppity Event inside of our SkyBlock Mod. By scrolling down in the mod options, you’ll now see a feature titled Hoppity Waypoints which will show you all of the egg locations around the island, making collecting them much easier.
Lunar Client Vault Sale
We’ve released our bi-annual Vault Sale, featuring some crazy discounts, alongside with bringing back nearly every single cosmetic released on Lunar Client. You’ll be able to view our cosmetics from all the way back in 2019, to present day, making picking out cosmetics that suits your style, much easier. Additionally, these discounts also stack if you happen to be a Lunar+ subscriber, making now the best time for you to pick up some new outfits for your locker. Lunar Client Wrapped
As tradition, we’ve released our Lunar Client Wrapped for 2024. Every year, we show off the hours that you’ve spent on the client, as well as a plethora of other stats, such as how many times you’ve joined a multiplayer server, who your best friend is, and what your favorite cosmetic is. For those curious cats, you have all managed to join multiplayer servers over 2 billion times this year, alongside with Lunar Client being launched over 300 million times. If you wish to see the rest of our global statistics for this year, or view your own and where you rank among everyone else, just click on the big button that says Wrapped, inside of our main menu.
New UI System
Let’s get into our biggest change to our in-game menus since Lunar Client’s release. Introducing our brand new UI system.
This new system fully revamps our in-game UI elements, adding more capabilities that were previously lacking. With this change, some new ideas for menus that would take days or even weeks to fully implement into the client can now be done at a higher quality and in a fraction of the time. Additionally, you’ll notice a much cleaner, and sleeker design to all of our menus, especially for players with higher-resolution displays.
Since creating this new system from scratch, we’re currently in the process of moving our older menus to the new system before we start redesigning them and creating new ones. With our initial release of the system, you’ll immediately be able to view these improvements in certain areas of the main menu, such as our action buttons, blog carousel, account switcher, social linking, theme selector, friends list, and direct message menus. We’ve also moved all of our notifications over to using this new system, so you’ll already start noticing some improvements in-game.
Discord Linking Cosmetics
Alongside this massive change, we’ll be adding some benefits for players who link their Minecraft and Discord accounts through the main menu. By heading in-game and clicking the Link Discord button near the top left of your screen, you’ll now be able to claim 3 completely free cosmetics that will remain on your account indefinitely, as long as you keep your accounts linked, and stay in the Lunar Client Discord. Winter & Christmas Collection
While we’re on the topic of cosmetics, we’re excited to show off two new collections for this month. Both our Winter, and Christmas collections combined feature 11 cloaks, 12 cute shoulder pets, 2 new auras, 7 cozy suits, 5 fitted bodywear, and 3 magnificent wings. With this release, also includes our first ever scalable cosmetics being our Winter Wings, so no matter how small or massive you like your wings to be, you’re able to choose whatever size suits you best.
