Did you know that Lunar Client now supports custom modpacks? Lunar Client is an all-in-one Minecraft experience that offers 75+ mods catering to a plethora of different genres including; PvP, Survival, Minigames and so much more!

With the latest update, you can easily import your custom modpacks directly into Lunar Client using the Modrinth platform—a hub for Minecraft mods, modpacks, resource packs, and shaderpacks. In this article, we’re going to cover all the steps needed to create, import and use modpacks with Lunar Client.

Launching Lunar Client

First and most importantly, you’ll begin by downloading and installing Lunar Client if you haven’t already. To install Lunar Client, head over to the Lunar Client Website, then navigate to the Download Page and pick the installation appropriate to your operating system—Lunar Client supports Windows, macOS and Linux.

Once you’ve installed and opened Lunar Client, you will be prompted with our Launcher.

Downloading Modpacks

Next up, you’ll need to download your preferred modpack from Modrinth to use with Lunar Client. Navigate to the modpacks page, find the modpack you’d like to use and hit the download button. You can use the search bar to look for a specific modpack or you can apply some of the filters on the left side to narrow down the results shown to you and make them more tailored to the kind of experience you’re looking for.

Once you do that, you’ll need to select the Minecraft version you’d like to play on, and hit download again. Once that is completed, you should be ready to move on to the next and final step!

Importing Modpacks

You are now one step away from using your preferred modpack on Lunar Client. Once you’ve downloaded the modpack, you will see a .mrpack file in your downloads folder (or the download location you selected).

Now, head over to the Lunar Client Launcher, click on the Versions tab on the left side and navigate to the Modpacks tab. Once you’re in the Modpacks tab, drag the .mrpack file from your downloads folder and drop it into the Lunar Client Launcher.

After that, simply press Install Modpack and Lunar Client will automatically start downloading all the mods! Once the installation is complete, you will be redirected to the modpack’s settings page where you can make any adjustments, such as changing it’s name, description, image or modifying the mods included.

Now you should be good to go! Simply hit Launch Game and enjoy your custom modpack with Lunar Client! It will also be saved in the Modpacks tab so you can select it whenever you want.

Unfortunately, not all modpacks are going to work with Lunar Client. We are aware of this and are actively working on improving the mod loading experience for all Lunar Client users.
